Hi All, Sharlene passed in the Spring or early Summer of 2020. Gene called me several weeks following her passing. He said it was an undetected heart issue. Just collapsed at home and was gone. Had been working at home due to Covid. They lived in Pinellas Park, FL, near St Pete. Sharlene worked for the state of Florida in Senior Services. She was quite far up in the states organization. Possibly she was responsible for coordinating the Senior Services in Penellas County or a similar type administrative position for Florida.
She and I got together twice in Florida over the last 25ish years. Once we went together to the Zoo north of Tampa . Was a lot of fun. Another time, she and Gene took us out to lunch when Allen & I were flying into Tampa. I though of catching up with her when we were in the St Pete/Tampa area January 2020, literally right before Covid officially arrived in the US. Unfortunately, I didn't call her to set a time to meet. Of course, when I received Gene's call, I deeply regretted not getting in touch with her. At that point, I thought .......there will be another opportunity to get together. Life can be fragile. I missed out.
Have looked periodically for an obit in either St Pete or Pgh area, have never found one.
